Two months down of deployment and we're all still doing great. It's been a busy two months with a trip to Kansas, a trip to Maryland (for me and Sophie), swim lessons, and visiting various parks in the local area. It's hard to beat summertime in Whidbey island with so many beautiful and fun parks and the mild, sunny weather. It almost makes the 9 months of perpetual gloom worth it!

Abby at Joseph Whidbey State Park.

Sophie and I at Fort Ebey.

Caleb gets a new baseball cap (which he likes to wear backwards) from Great-Grandpa Ruthrauff.

Evan on the phone with Brent.

This is one of my favorite pictures of the girls. There was such a tenderness between the 2 of them in the midst of all the chaos at Chuck E. Cheese.

We had a wonderful month-long stay in Kingman, KS. Here we are at a local lake where we had a weeny roast and made some smores. Colleen, Bren'ts mom, left today after spending 2 and a half weeks in Oak Harbor with us. Yes, we are sad.

The fourth of July in Kansas.

The kiddos on the beach side of Cranberry Lake.

Abby at Fort Ebey.

Caleb at Deception Pass.

Evan at Windjammer Park.

Sophie was super-baby in the Atlanta airport. She still managed to be a happy girl even with limited naps as we made our way back from Maryland to Kansas.

That's it for now!! (side note: Abby is pouting in this picture because I made her put down some purple straw she found on the beach at Joseph Whidbey State Park. I guess if I let her keep the straw, it would have made for a better picture.)
