The kids and I watch as Brent's plane circles around and comes in for a landing. It was truly a miracle that Brent came home on his scheduled time of December 8th. It's a long story but the night before his arrival, he called to inform me that he would not be coming home the next day. I sank into a mild depression as we were on the phone and just started praying that God would work out the details of Brent's return. Forty-five minutes into our phone conversation I hear in the background "Let's go!" and "Brent, are you ready?' I was elated to hear that they would be coming home but just 4 hours delayed. God is awesome!
First kiss from my love. Brent's entire crew wore those Japanese hats as they disembarked from the P-3 for some laughs. Brent has not lost his romantic touch by bringing me flowers.
Family Hug! This was my first long term deployment where I had to share the homecoming with kids. I was not used to sharing the affection but the kids have been starving for daddy hugs, kisses and wrestling for so long that I was happy to wait in line.

It did not take long for Brent to become the number one person in Evan's life again. Typically at this age it takes some time for a two-year old to warm up to someone he hasn't seen in a while. This was not the case for Evan. Almost instantly, Evan was back to being Daddy's little boy.

It's been four and half months but we finally get to have our family together again. It feels great to be reunited.

Is that really you daddy? When we came home from the hangar and gave Brent a tour of our home, Abby looked up at me and said "Mommy, am I dreaming?" She sincerely thought that she was dreaming that her father came home. Brent coming home was truly our dreams come true!!
